Minigun(Sasha)

Information

Basic Info
Used By: Heavy
Slot: Primary
Ammo Info
Loaded: 200
Carried: n/a

The Minigun (known affectionately as ‘Sasha’) is the primary weapon for the Heavy class. It is listed as a Level 1 Minigun in the loadout menu. High damage per bullet combined with an extremely high rate of fire makes the Minigun one of the most powerful weapons in the game. The weapon requires approximately one second of spin-up time before it starts to fire. To keep the spin going and ready to fire at a moment’s notice without wasting ammo or time, the special function key may be held down (default: Mouse2/Left Trigger [360]/L2 [PS3]). When either spinning or firing, the Heavy’s movement speed is slowed considerably (to 27% speed), while spinning or firing while crouched, you cannot move. The Minigun has a large cone of fire and individual bullets suffer damage falloff with range as well, it fires 10 ammo per second. For each 1 ammo, the gun fires 4 bullets, if all 200 ammo count is fired then that equals to 800 bullets.

Damage

Range Damage per 1 ammo Critical damage Damage per second
Point Blank 50-55 108 500-550 (Crit: 1080/sec)
Medium 5-30 54 50-300 (Crit: 540/sec)
Long 5-10 27 50-100 (Crit: 270/sec)

Note: The critical hit damage, long range assumes 1 crit bullet hits per 1 ammo, medium range assumes 2 crit bullets hit per 1 ammo, point blank range assumes all 4 bullets hit per 1 ammo. Medium range is defined as the main resupply door to the opposite wall on the upper level of 2fort. Long range is defined as battlement to battlement on 2fort. Damages are approximate and determined by community testing.

Natascha

(Upgrade of Sasha)

Basic Info
Used By: Heavy
Slot: Primary
Ammo Info
Loaded: 200
Carried: n\a

Information

Natascha is the second unlockable weapon for the Heavy that replaces the Minigun and is unlocked after completing 16 Heavy achievements. Natascha is listed as a Level 5 Minigun in the loadout menu. She allows him to slow enemies with her bullets. Enemies taking damage from her will find themselves moving slower for an instant, encouraging them to find cover or deal with the Heavy. Unfortunately, her firepower is 25% weaker than that of normal Minigun, so the Heavy will find it takes longer to finish enemies off, combined with damage falloff and a large cone of fire its best to fire at close range. As a result, Natascha’s great to use against those that want to get away, like Scouts & Medics, and not so great against those trying to kill you. Heavies that like to jump around corners to surprise groups of enemies will also find it very useful, because Natascha makes a noticeably quieter (yet distinct) sound than the normal Minigun. Before you do that, though, it’s best to make sure there isn’t a Sasha-wielding Heavy there. It’s also easier to Spy check, as any friendly that gets slowed down when shot is a Spy. The Natascha like the minigun fires 10 ammo per second. For each 1 ammo, the gun fires 4 bullets, if all 200 ammo count is fired then that equals to 800 bullets.

Damage

Range Damage per 1 ammo Critical damage Damage per second
Point Blank 32-36 72 320-360 (Crit: 720/sec)
Medium 3-20 36 30-200 (Crit: 360/sec)
Long 3-6 18 30-60 (Crit: 180/sec)

Note: The critical hit damage, long range assumes 1 crit bullet hits per 1 ammo, medium range assumes 2 crit bullets hit per 1 ammo, point blank range assumes all 4 bullets hit per 1 ammo. Medium range is defined as the main resupply door to the opposite wall on the upper level of 2fort. Long range is defined as battlement to battlement on 2fort. Basic Info
Used By: Engineer, Soldier,Pyro, Heavy
Slot: Secondary(Primary for Engineer)
Ammo Info
Loaded: 6
Carried: 32

Information

The Shotgun is the primary weapon for the Engineer, and the secondary weapon for the Soldier, Pyro, and Heavy. It is listed in the loadout menu for all of them as a Level 1 Shotgun. It fires fairly rapidly, 10 bullets per 1 ammo, every 0.6 seconds, and can deliver high damage at close range but has a high damage falloff. As the Engineer’s most powerful weapon, he uses it primarily for defending his Dispenser or Teleporter and for engaging an enemy attempting to exploit a weakness in his Sentry Gun. The Pyro uses his shotgun for engaging targets unreachable by his Flamethrower and the Soldier will generally rely on the shotgun if his rockets have been expended, or to otherwise preserve rockets for when they are more needed. The shotgun is also a useful weapon to equip if the Heavy is running from point to point.

Taunting with your Shotgun equipped as a Pyro will activate the special Hadouken taunt attack.

Sandvich

Basic Info
Used By: Heavy
Slot: Secondary
Ammo Info
Loaded: 1
Carried: Unlimited

Information

Name: Sandvich

Role: Edible Device

Weapons: Toothpick

He was a good lunch who played by the rules, until the rules robbed him of everything he ever loved. Now he’s lettuce, tomato, cheese, bread, and a mysterious slice of meat, marching down your throat and straight to hell. He’ll satisfy your hunger. FOR REVENGE!

The Heavy’s Sandvich was first seen in Meet the Scout and has since been given its own movie. It consists of two triangular slices of bread with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, ham, and bologna in between. The Sandvich is an unlockable replacement for the Heavy’s shotgun once 10 Heavy achievements are earned. When eaten, it replenishes 120 HP over four seconds. The decision to eat a Sandvich must not be taken lightly; the Heavy is completely vulnerable and very loud during the eating process (NOM NOM NOM OM NOM). The Heavy’s Sandvich supply is unlimited, so his only real concern is being caught short while enjoying the delicious edible device.

In terms of weapon choice, the Sandvich is a great tool for area defense, as it gives the Heavy the ability to replenish health between enemy waves without having to abandon his post. Similarly, an offensive Heavy without a Medic can step back from the front line and grab a quick snack before resuming his rampage. However, enemies at range are far more dangerous, especially Snipers, and if the Heavy runs out of Minigun ammo with the Sandvich equipped, he is left with only melee for offense. Note that you cannot use the Sandvich while underwater.

Trivia

  • The Sandvich is listed as a Level 1 Lunch Box in the loadout menu.
  • A Heavy holding the Sandvich drops no metal when killed. The dropped Sandvich can be collected by a scout to boost him 75 HP. Any other class picking up a dropped Sandvich get only 50 HP boost.
  • The Sandvich has no unique taunt. Taunting while the Sandvich is held is the same as pressing the primary attack.
  • The healing from the Sandvich is syncronised with the Heavy’s audible eating.
    • Each “NOM” gives 20HP to the Heavy eating the Sandvich, whereas the “OM” gives 40HP thus adding to a total of 120HP.

Fists

Basic Info
Used By: Heavy/Civilian
Slot: Melee
Ammo Info
Loaded: n/a
Carried: n/a

 Information

The melee weapons of the Heavy class are his massive Fists. Dealing significant damage, his fists are an alternative to the Shotgun when an opponent is at close range and the Heavy’s Minigun is out of ammo. Alternatively, the fists may be used to attack enemies within melee range if the wind-up time for the minigun is too costly.

When the Heavy dies with his fists out, he drops his minigun, which can be picked up for ammo.

By default, left clicking throws a left-handed punch and right clicking throws a right-handed punch (this has no effect on gameplay). Critical hit punches appear as a right-handed uppercut animation.

Taunting with your Fists equipped will activate the special Showdown taunt attack.

Heavy Civilians may attack with their fists just as a regular Heavy, but cannot switch to any other weapon.

Damage

  • Point Blank: 43-87
  • Critical Hit: 195

K.G.B

Information

The K.G.B (Killing Gloves of Boxing) is the unlockable melee weapon for the Heavy class and is a Level 7 loadout for the fists. It is unlocked after you have gained 22 Heavy achievements. When the Heavy kills an enemy with the K.G.B he is guaranteed critical hits for the next 5 seconds, and can kill additional enemies to further lengthen the boost time. This power-up also crosses over with other weapons, such as the shotgun, so the Heavy could kill an enemy with the K.G.B and then take out his shotgun to blast away enemies from range. However, the K.G.B has a 20% slower swinging speed, and coupled with the Heavy’s slow movement speed makes this tactic risky.

The acronym of the Killing Gloves Of Boxing, K.G.B, was also the acronym for the Russian security agency, secret police and intelligence agency Komityet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosty, which was disbanded in 1995.

The critical hit effect caused when killing someone counts towards the Supreme Soviet Achievement.

When the Heavy dies with his K.G.B out, he drops his minigun, which can be picked up for ammo.

By default, left clicking throws a left-handed punch and right clicking throws a right-handed punch (this has no effect on gameplay). Critical hit punches appear as a right-handed uppercut animation.

The K.G.B has a unique taunt, Two “knock-out” bells are heard and the Heavy starts doing uppercuts in the air. This is an homage to Mr. Sandman’s warm-up technique from Punch Out!!.
